How we help
What this pathway covers
We help clients secure qualified industrial minerals, chemicals, catalyst raw materials and refractories from international producers — specification-matched and commercially structured for the long term.
Raw materials are where process plants meet the ground: a magnesite or phosphate rock that is off-specification shows up in the product, the reactor or the emissions. Strategic raw-material supply is therefore a technical exercise before it is a commercial one — grade, size distribution, impurities, consistency and the supplier's ability to hold them over a long-term programme.
MINCAT structures raw-material supply as a qualified programme rather than a series of spot purchases. We identify and qualify suppliers against your specification, coordinate sampling and third-party analysis, agree quality-control and inspection procedures, and coordinate logistics from mine or plant to your site. Material is supplied by the qualified producer under direct contract; MINCAT does not trade inventory.
Portfolio
Material groups
Scope is defined per engagement. Where a technology or product is proprietary, it is licensed or supplied by its owner; MINCAT identifies, evaluates and coordinates.
- Magnesite (raw, calcined, dead-burned)
- Brucite
- Phosphate rock
- Potash
- Sulphur
- Limestone
- Dolomite
- Activated alumina
- Activated carbon
- Industrial minerals
- Catalyst raw materials
- Specialty chemicals
- Industrial salts
- Refractory materials
Typical requirements
Situations in which clients engage us
If your requirement is not on this list, describe it anyway. The list is illustrative, not a menu.
- Long-term supply of magnesite or brucite for refractory, chemical or agricultural use
- Phosphate rock or sulphur supply programme for a fertilizer complex
- Qualified alternative source for a mineral currently bought from a single origin
- Specialty chemical or catalyst raw-material supply with tight impurity limits
- Refractory materials for furnace and kiln relining programmes
- Activated alumina or carbon for adsorption and purification duties
Technical considerations
What usually decides the outcome
The specification is the contract
Chemical analysis, size distribution, moisture and impurity limits — with the test methods — are defined before suppliers are approached.
Consistency is qualified, not assumed
Supplier qualification covers deposit characteristics, processing control and historical analysis, not just a single sample.
Independent inspection protects both sides
Pre-shipment sampling and analysis by an agreed third-party laboratory make quality disputes rare and resolvable.
Logistics can exceed material cost
Packaging, port handling, moisture control and inland freight are planned with the supply programme.
Scope and responsibility
What MINCAT does — and what qualified partners deliver
MINCAT is asset-light. The distinction between our coordination role and partner-delivered scope is stated in every proposal and contract.
Coordination, evaluation and support
- Specification definition and supplier identification
- Supplier qualification, sampling and third-party analysis coordination
- Commercial comparison and programme structuring
- Quality-control, inspection and production follow-up coordination
- Logistics coordination to site
Contracted directly with the qualified partner
- Mining, processing and supply — the producer
- Sampling, analysis and pre-shipment inspection — accredited laboratories and inspection agencies
- Ocean, port and inland freight — logistics providers
Commercial and procurement considerations
How engagements are structured
- Annual or multi-year programmes with agreed quality bands give better security than spot buying.
- Pricing is compared on a delivered-and-qualified basis, including inspection and logistics.
- MINCAT is not a trader: supply contracts are between you and the producer, and our fee is agreed separately.
