How we help
What this pathway covers
We help plants source static, rotating, thermal and control equipment from manufacturers who meet the specification, with technical-commercial comparison and inspection coordination on the client's side.
Equipment procurement fails in predictable ways: a data sheet that does not reflect the process case, a manufacturer selected on price who has not built at that pressure or material, an inspection plan that is agreed after fabrication has started. Each of these is cheaper to prevent than to fix.
MINCAT sources equipment from the specification outward. We qualify manufacturers against the codes, materials and reference installations your application requires, run structured technical-commercial comparison, coordinate third-party inspection and manage delivery interfaces. We do not manufacture and do not hold inventory; every unit is supplied by a qualified manufacturer under a direct contract with you.

Typical requirements
Situations in which clients engage us
If your requirement is not on this list, describe it anyway. The list is illustrative, not a menu.
- Replacement of a critical exchanger, reactor or compressor with a like-for-like or upgraded unit
- Complete equipment packages for a new unit specified by the licensor or engineering partner
- Alternative manufacturers for equipment previously sourced from a single vendor
- Materials-upgrade projects (for example duplex or alloy-clad vessels for corrosive service)
- Solids-handling and minerals-processing equipment for mining and cement operations
- Instrumentation, DCS and analyser packages for automation upgrades
Technical considerations
What usually decides the outcome
Data sheets must carry the design case
Process conditions, design margins, materials of construction and code stamps are verified before enquiries go out — not corrected in change orders.
Code and certification determine the vendor list
ASME U-stamp, PED, IBR, API 610/617/660 and site specifications decide which manufacturers can be considered at all.
Inspection is planned, not improvised
Hold points, witness tests, NDT extent and documentation requirements are agreed in the inspection and test plan before fabrication.
Total cost includes spares and service
Commissioning spares, two-year operating spares and service capability in your region are part of the comparison.
Scope and responsibility
What MINCAT does — and what qualified partners deliver
MINCAT is asset-light. The distinction between our coordination role and partner-delivered scope is stated in every proposal and contract.
Coordination, evaluation and support
- Specification review and enquiry preparation
- Manufacturer identification and technical qualification
- Technical-commercial comparison and recommendation
- Coordination of third-party inspection, expediting and documentation
- Delivery, logistics and site-interface coordination
Contracted directly with the qualified partner
- Design, fabrication and testing — the equipment manufacturer
- Third-party inspection and NDT — accredited agencies
- Transport, heavy-lift and site delivery — logistics specialists
Commercial and procurement considerations
How engagements are structured
- Equipment is contracted directly between you and the manufacturer; MINCAT's fee is agreed separately and does not depend on the vendor chosen.
- Comparing alternatives properly typically requires three to five qualified proposals; we normalise them to one technical basis.
- Delivery terms, spares, warranty and service response are compared alongside price.
